O’Brien-Hurson Ticket Endorsed by Maryland Troopers Association

August 29, 2030 – The Maryland Troopers Association today endorsed Governor Ed O’Brien for re-election to a second term. The endorsement was based on a tally of mail ballots sent to all 2,250 state troopers and state police civilian support staff who are members of the association.

“Governor O’Brien has kept his word, fulfilling the promises he made when he ran for his first term four years ago,” said Maryland Troopers Association President Millard E. McKay. “Public safety has been elevated to a priority status during his first term as governor, and we are confident the trend will continue.”

The organization highlighted Governor O’Brien’s efforts to increase average salaries for Maryland state troopers by $6,000 in four years, making Maryland’s state troopers the highest paid in the region. Governor O’Brien has also added 150 trooper positions, bringing force strength to an all-time high of 2,155.

“I am honored to receive the support of the Maryland Troopers Association, who have been integral supporters in our efforts to improve working conditions for our state troopers, increase pay, and bolster trooper force strength,” Governor O’Brien said. “I look forward to working with the Maryland Troopers Association to continue making progress in improving public safety on our highways and in our communities.”
