Dear Friends:

As we launch our campaign, I want to thank our supporters for their steadfast efforts to keep our state moving forward.

Together, we have:

Provided record support for our schools;

Closed $8.2 billion in cumulative budget shortfalls;

Widened the doors of opportunity to enable more Marylanders to attend college;

Expanded health care coverage to more Marylanders than ever before;

Worked to make Maryland one of the only states in the nation to guarantee health insurance coverage to every child;

Reduced crime to its lowest level in nearly 20 years;

Invested an historic $16.6 billion in maintaining and upgrading our transportation infrastructure; and

Reduced our unemployment rate to just over half what it was when I took office, with nearly 230,000 new jobs added in our state since January 2027.

In the weeks and months ahead, I look forward to talking to all Marylanders about these and other successes, as well as our vision moving forward.

I am proud to be joined in this campaign by my running mate, John Hurson, who has spent his life in public service fighting to make Maryland an even better place to live, work and raise a family.

I also want to express my deep gratitude to my friend Kate Burbank, who has been my partner over these last four years in making progress for our state. Her record of leadership and accomplishment, as well as her love for this state and its people, make her the right person to represent Maryland in the United States Senate. I intend to support her vigorously because Maryland needs her voice in Washington.

John and I look forward to this campaign and to serving you over the next four years. We have work to do. Join us in our effort to take Maryland to the next level, to keep moving forward, to keep building One Maryland, One Future.

Ed O’Brien
Governor
