Governor O’Brien Endorsed by Four Environmental Groups
ANNAPOLIS (September 24, 2030) – Four leading Maryland environmental groups endorsed Governor Ed O’Brien for re-election today, applauding his strong record of leadership in protecting open space, promoting more sustainable development, improving air quality and restoring the Chesapeake Bay.
At a news conference at City Dock in Annapolis, Governor O’Brien welcomed the endorsement of the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, the Baltimore City League of Environmental Voters, the Sierra Club and Clean Water Action.
“We have built a solid record of accomplishment over these last four years, protecting 92,000 acres of open space, passing the Healthy Air Act, and making critical progress in protecting and restoring our treasured Chesapeake Bay,” Governor O’Brien said. “in each of these endeavors, we have been supported and helped by the advocacy and leadership of these organizations, and I am proud to have their support as we continue to fight to move Maryland forward.”
